Visitor and Tourism Info

If you’re in Family Camp or just in the area, there’s lots to do in Alberta! Here are a few recommendations, but you can always learn more at the links below. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Drumheller (traveldrumheller.com)

80 miles/130 kilometers from Calgary International Airport is a town called Drumheller. Drumheller is in a valley of the badlands and makes for a unique visit. Visit the Atlas Coal Mine, the world’s largest dinosaur, the suspension bridge, or refreshments and a meal at the Last Chance Saloon!

Tyrrell Museum (tyrrellmuseum.com)

Do you like dinosaurs? Check out many fossils and dinosaur skeletons at the Tyrrell Museum.

Badlands Amphitheatre (badlandsamp.com)

Take in a performance of the Passion Play at the Badlands Amphitheatre. Volunteers perform an epic story about faith, hope, and love during the first three weekends of July.

Calgary Stampede (calgarystampede.com)

The Calgary Stampede occurs in the weeks leading up to the Camporee and is a great outdoor show for the whole family.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Cornel Rylaarsdam Memorial Fund

Some families would like to send their son to an international camporee, but they simply don’t have the financial resources to make it work. The CRMF is available to help pay part or all of the registration fees for individuals who need help. The request is reviewed by the Steering Committee of the International Camporee.
